StuG III vs T-34 by Osprey

In the summer of 1944, the Red Army launched a major armored offensive up the Karelian Isthmus, aiming to eradicate any remaining German and Finnish forces near Leningrad. Most Soviet units sent to Finland were unfamiliar with the region, having primarily fought in the Leningrad area. Consequently, some units possessed the latest Soviet equipment, including the new T-34-85 tank, deployed alongside the older T-34-76. Germany refused to sell new tanks to Finland without a strengthened military alliance, but in 1943, it began supplying a few dozen StuG III assault guns. This made the StuG III battalion the most advanced and powerful element of the Finnish armored division, seeing heavy combat in the June-July battles.
